I think it may have had a gold wash on it at one time, but it's been polished or worn away over the years. This brooch is c.1930 an measures a whopping 4 1/2" long. This is a sterling brooch that at one time had a gold wash on it, but it's been polished off over the years, and now the bright sterling finish is what shines through. I think it looks better this way myself. It has a square cut glass jade stone in the center and it measures 3" long.
