Painting by Raymond King~ Lilacs

Raymond King is a listed Artist who used to live in our area. His shows would sell out at the Southern Vermont Arts Center shows in Manchester Vermont. I own six of his paintings, this was my first one. I really don't have the room for it in condo that we're moving to. It measures 34" x 28" framed and the painting is about 30" x 24". This painting was selling for $800 when I acquired it 10 years ago. It was new then. Ray King was a customer of mine and traded me this painting for a Georg Jensen Art Deco sterling bracelet. I think I got the better end of the deal! My friend Susan said, the first time she saw this painting, "Oh, I can smell the lilacs!" That's how real looking this painting is.

 It's been over my fireplace for the last 6 years and hung prominently in my living room in our last home too. It's a wonderful piece of artwork, and I luckily have others that I enjoy so I'm letting this one go and less than half of it's original price. You won't be sorry you got this one! It's oil on canvas and the frame is included. Ray framed it himself. You may pick this painting up if you prefer. I'm about 1 hour east of Albany New York, 3 hours West of Boston Massachusetts, 2 1/2 hours north of Hartford Connecticut.

Rare 23" Parkinson's 1897 Cupid Awake & Cupid Asleep

I got this rare pair of Cupids about 15 years ago in an antiques shop in Palmer Massachusetts. They're an unusually large version of Cupid Awake and Cupid Asleep. I read somewhere there there are 12 different cupids in this turn of the century series. I was once told by a woman in Pownal Vermont that her father was the child model for this pair. They are in black & white sepia tones. I've shown you a photo of them on the wall so you can get an idea of how large they really are.

These prints are huge. The measure about 23"x19" framed. The frames are walnut or mahogany I think. They are signed 1897 and some other things I can't read, and are 100% original. If you collect Cupid Awake & Cupid Asleep, you'll want this rare pair for your collection.

RARE 25" Cupid Awake & Cupid Asleep

I bought this rare pair of Cupids about 10 years ago in an antiques shop in Manchester Vermont. They're an unusual version of the more common Cupid Awake and Cupid Asleep. I read somewhere there there are 12 different cupids in this turn of the century series. I'm not sure if the models in this pair are  the same children in the original ones, only older, or if they're a different child altogether. They are in black & white sepia tones. I've shown you a photo of them on the wall so you can get an idea of how large they really are.
